YFT is holding a GCSE based tournament that will pit school-age players at a number of top football clubs against one another in tackling educational challenges.

  • Boosting core education of young learners
  • Supporting ‘catch-up’ of lost learning during Covid 19

As football clubs are responsible for ensuring the young players in their academies receive a full education, many have turned to YFT to support with their blended learning.

The tournament, which runs from August 10 to August 28, will feature a team of academy players from 16 of the English football clubs that use the YFT platform. The cup has been drawn and these are the groups. One academy from each group will move through to our semi-finals on the 18th of August. Watch the draw here!

Players score ‘goals’ for their team by completing learning tasks on the platform. A trophy will be awarded to the winners of the tournament, as well as ‘Man of the Match’ awards for each game and a ‘Golden Boot’ award for the highest individual goalscorer.

Clubs participating are:

  • Bournemouth
  • Brighton & Hove Albion
  • Barnsley
  • Crystal Palace
  • Derby County
  • Everton
  • Hull City
  • Luton Town
  • Middlesbrough
  • Manchester United
  • Milton Keynes Dons
