We don’t want to brag, (ok, maybe a little) but these new Functional Skills courses on the Your Favourite Teacher platform certainly have the X Factor.
Whether your students are brushing up on their Maths and English skills or if they’re preparing to take their Functional Skills exams, these lessons will be the perfect helping hand to support their revision. All of our content has been built by qualified teachers and will also be fantastic in supporting EAL and KS3 learners.
Our lessons cover key numeracy and literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. From walkthroughs of how to approach the exam questions to ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ styled questions, these lessons will really help your students understand what is being asked of them in their assessments. These skills will serve them both in and out of the classroom which is why we couldn’t be more excited with this launch!
Each lesson includes a downloadable resource, topic page, an interactive quiz and an animated video to really engage the user. These short lessons not only develop their topic knowledge but will make them giggle along the way. Students might even enjoy our terrible but brilliant use of puns – peri peri chicken in relation to perimeters… (Yep, we told you our teacher jokes were on point!)
Usability has always been top on our priority list. Your students can access these Functional Skills courses via their laptops, Ipads and phones which is especially important during remote learning. The pressure has been on for teachers and parents but we hope with our animated lessons but their side, it will make life a little easier.
Teachers are also able to set and track work which is great for monitoring their students progress from afar. We aren’t all work and no play at YFT though. Our courses reward users with badges and certificates to recognise their efforts too.
As remote learning is at the forefront of our minds, we have decided to lend a helping hand! We will be updating this YouTube playlist with GCSE English, Maths, Science AND Functional Skills lessons. So why not go see for yourself how fab these new lessons are?
